About

This workshop will provide participants with a concise overview of the United Nations System at Vienna and strengthen their understanding of the structure, mandate and governance of the main Vienna-based organizations.

Learning Objectives

After this briefing participants should be able to:

• Define the structure, mandate and functions of the major international organisations in Vienna;
• Analyse linkages between the international organizations in Vienna;
• Understand the decision-making process and the governance system of these organizations;
• Understand the difference between the United Nations Organization and System;
• Perform more efficiently in Vienna’s multilateral working environment.

Methodology

The workshop will take place on October 3 and 4 at the Vienna International Center. The course will be conducted in English.
